Overview

Umm Al Nar B is a strategic gas‑fired cogeneration power and water plant supporting Abu Dhabi’s electricity and desalinated water supply under a long‑term Power and Water Purchase Agreement (PWPA). As a core asset within the emirate’s utility system, the plant plays a vital role in meeting baseload demand through reliable, large‑scale generation.

The facility combines combined‑cycle gas turbine (CCGT) technology with multi‑stage flash (MSF) desalination, enabling efficient and integrated production of power and water. Operated as part of Abu Dhabi’s mature IWPP portfolio, Umm Al Nar B continues to deliver stable performance and long‑term value under its extended PWPA.
