ENGIE attends foundation laying ceremony for France’s Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai

ENGIE, as the first appointed ambassador to the French Pavilion at Expo 2020 attended the foundation stone ceremony for the French pavilion on 2 May 2019 in the presence of French Minister for Transport and Ecological Transition, Mrs. Élisabeth Borne and Mr. Najeeb Mohammed Al-Ali, Executive Director of the Dubai Expo 2020 Bureau.

ENGIE has been present in the GCC for over 30 years as a pioneering regional and global partner. ENGIE is the #1 private Power and Water developer in the GCC with a portfolio of 28.8 GW and 1,211 MIGD.

In 2003, ENGIE established its regional head office in Dubai, from which today it oversees a geographical scope that spans the Middle East, South and Central Asia, and Turkey (MESCAT).

Speaking ahead of the ceremony Sébastien Arbola, CEO, ENGIE MESCAT said, “We are excited and proud to have the opportunity to witness this historic moment at the Expo 2020 site. As a global player in energy and services, ENGIE is committed to supporting the UAE and France at Expo 2020.”

During Expo 2020, the key mission of France’s Pavilion is to promote French heritage, with all its human, philosophical, artistic, cultural and entrepreneurial wealth, but also present its innovative science and technologies. Thus, complementing the main theme of Expo 2020 “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”, based around three interwoven subthemes of opportunity, mobility and sustainability.
