ENGIE appoints Turki Al Shehri to lead KSA business

Al Shehri brings over 17 years’ experience working in the energy sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and has held various strategic roles in the Ministry of Energy and Saudi Aramco.

A leader in Saudi Arabia’s energy sector
ENGIE has appointed Turki Al Shehri to be its new Chief Executive Officer in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). Al Shehri will lead ENGIE’s efforts to grow its presence in the Kingdom and bolster its portfolio of investments, partnerships and customer solutions, as one of the leading French investors in Saudi Arabia.

Al Shehri brings with him a wealth of experience, having previously held numerous strategic roles including the Head of Renewable Energy Project Development Office (REPDO) in the Ministry of Energy, and the Head of Power Investment at Saudi Aramco.

“I am delighted to join ENGIE and take on new challenges and opportunities to further grow our business in Saudi Arabia. I have watched ENGIE grow across the region to become the market leader it is today and am truly excited to be leading this team in Saudi Arabia as we continue to build a stronger portfolio in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030,” Al Shehri commented.

ENGIE is active in the KSA through three businesses: Power generation, water desalination, and energy services.

As ENGIE’s KSA CEO, Al Shehri will work closely with the 3 businesses lines, in particular with ENGIE’s customer solutions entities in KSA including Engie Cofely, ENGIE Energy Services Saudi, Cofely AXIMA, ENDEL and Tractebel.

Al Shehri is a graduate from the University of South Florida holding a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering.
