ENGIE STOMO technicians receive six out of twelve awards in the NTI Techpro  Conference and Awards 2019

At the NTI Techpro Conference and Awards 2019 held in the Sultanate of Oman on September 18th2019 five of ENGIE STOMO Omani technicians received six awards, reflecting the firm’s successes in Oman.

Held for the first time in order to bring together Oman’s technical minds and businesses as well as honor technicians and companies operating in the Sultanate, the NTI Techpro Conference and Awards 2019 was organized under the theme ‘A skilled workforce for a sustainable tomorrow’.

Five ENGIE STOMO technicians were awarded ‘best technicians’ competing with over two hundred other participants. In total, six awards out of the twelve distributed were won by ENGIE STOMO’s technicians.
Humaid Al Hosni, mechanical technician onm Barka II Power and Desalination Plant (678 MW Power & 26 MIGD desalination capacity), received the highest award of ‘best technician of the year’ on top of the award for ‘best mechanical technician’.

Such achievement demonstrates the success of ENGIE’s strategy in Oman, that has focused on the omanization and training of national managers at various levels. The omanization rate exceeds 70% of employees, including senior management, and is expected to reach 100% by 2025.

It delivers these essentials by operating and maintaining 6 power plants and 2 desalination plants. These plants are the Barka II Power and Desalination Plant, Barka III Combined Cycle Power Plant, Al Rusail Power Plant, Manah Power Plant, Sohar I Power and Desalination Plant and Sohar II Combined Cycle Power Plant.
