ENGIE Recognized with Two Honors at Infra Global Awards MENA 2025

Energy Transition Deal of the Year and Social Infrastructure Deal of the Year recognize ENGIE’s role in advancing the region’s clean energy and sustainable infrastructure agenda

ENGIE has won two awards at the Infra Global Awards MENA 2025 ceremony, held in Dubai on September 9, 2026. The Khazna Solar Photovoltaic (PV) independent Power Project, being developed with Masdar for the EWEC (Emirates Water and Electricity Company) won Energy Transition Deal of the Year, MENA. The LED Phase 2 Extension in Al Ain, delivered through Nojoom, ENGIE’s joint venture with EDF, won the Social Infrastructure Deal of the Year, MENA

Khazna Solar PV supports the UAE’s energy transformation and reflects ENGIE’s commitment to developing reliable and low-carbon energy infrastructure. ENGIE is developing the 1.5 GW project alongside Masdar to be one of the largest utility-scale solar projects in the region. Following financial close in December 2025, construction is progressing, with commercial operations expected to commence in late 2028.

The LED Phase 2 Extension in Al Ain is a transformative public infrastructure project delivered through Nojoom, ENGIE’s joint venture with EDF. The project will upgrade more than 133,000 streetlights with energy-efficient LED technology, reducing power consumption by approximately 74%, while advancing more sustainable communities across Abu Dhabi emirate.

Niko Cornelis, CEO – ENGIE GCC, said: “These awards reflect ENGIE’s long-standing commitment to supporting the region’s energy transition through long-term partnerships, investment and operational expertise.

Khazna Solar PV demonstrates how we combine global solar expertise with strong local partnerships to deliver reliable, low-carbon energy at scale, supporting energy diversification goals across the region and contributing to the UAE’s path to Net Zero 2050 ambitions. The LED extension reflects that same commitment applied closer to communities, delivering practical, energy-efficient infrastructure that improves daily life while supporting the UAE’s sustainability ambitions. We are grateful to EWEC (Emirates Water and Electricity Company), Masdar, EDF, DMT, ADIO, and all our partners for their collaboration, and to the ENGIE teams whose work made both of these recognitions possible.”

These recognitions add to ENGIE’s growing portfolio of award-winning projects across the UAE, reinforcing ENGIE’s role as a trusted partner supporting the region’s energy transition.
